A strenuous struggle with dinosaurs from old generation is required in cinema - an interview with Ivan Yurukov

Why there's no such a passion in your kisses with Lubomir Kovachev-Chris as for example with the actors in the German version of the serial? Is it hard for you to relax because you've kissed a man for the first time or does this depend on the script-writers?-Countess_M

I'm not familiar with the passion our German colleagues enter into their roles or whether the Spanish couple are necking until growing blue but I can imagine the South-African version of men's love-they maybe tear themselves apart!I don't find the fault with the script-writers from different nationalities. It's our fault but what can we do when in the sex shops of Sofia there are no such things like passion barometers.I hope people could feel the sensual but impossible love between our characters.Because that's the topic of "Forbidden Love".

Do you think being an actor in Bulgaria is a lost cause and if valuable films are still made in Bulgarian cinema? Is there a role in theatre or cinema which you have been dreaming of since you were a child? -billy

Do you think being a draftsman in Bulgaria is a lost cause?Being an actor is not a cause,it's a mission and it doesn't matter whether you are in Georgia,Moldavia or Pakistan.First of all, this vocation requires honesty, humanity.Art's language allows the artist to filter the world through his eyes. The actor is an instrument-the strength of spirit becomes generally known by words and it can be used by everyone who's able to catch it and recognize it for himself/herself.As everything in our country,a strenuous struggle with dinosaurs from old generation is required because they emasculate every spontaneous movement of new generation because of fear.Children of the transitional period bear some fury.We need time to arm with talents who will kill reptiles in their lairs. This time is coming.

Who of the actors you're playing with in "Forbidden Love" gives you the most pleasure to partner with and why?-gossipgirl

It's extremely interesting to me to partner with all the colleagues from "Forbidden Love",I've met some of them for the first time.Everyone is unique. It would be hard for me to grade the pleasure of the partnership but I'm glad it's shared.I'm interested in embarking on crafty speech battles with Anastacia, who is brilliantly played by Diana Lubenova-an actress with rich experience and range;I'm also glad to play with Chriatian, who is always torn apart by inner contradictions;me and him are doomed to be together forever-that's a frank performance of Lubomir Kovachev;also Todor Tanchev as Boris-always cool and determined;Martin who is always in confrontation with me because of the well-intentioned script-writers;and everyone else.

Hello,Valery!Everybody has a girlfriend or a boyfriend in real life.Do you have one?If not, when are you going to find one?-petitu~baby

Hello to everyone in real life who have found their better half!I'd like to greet you with all my heart and to give you a kiss.Be happy,I wish the apple of discord never came up in your family yard!Hello you wretch who don't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend;somnambulists who roam themselves in the dark streets and wolves that rove in thorny paths without vanity!Minions of Fortune, burn in your own loneliness and scoop up from the draw-well of uncertainty!А fortune-teller predicted that I'll meet my Psychea on the Saturday when night will draw on above the Danube and the drowsy Balkan will fall asleep...

You cope with your role very well and I think you'll cope so well with any other role! What was your dream when you were a kid and did it come true? What did you want to occupy with?-Vyara Gelyazkova

Thanks for your trust! When I was a kid,I dreamt of meeting Jack Frost. But he disappeared irretrievably. Then my dad threw my first pulled out tooth on the roof.I wanted to be a glassman very much.I wanted to rummage in the glaze-kiln with molten glass and to blow in the tube in order to carve the most beautiful carafe in the world.

First of all,I want to congratulate you on the role you play,it's a really responsible one!In my opinion you cope with it very well!I know you should be brave to play such a thing because you have to be preliminary ready for the attacks of the conservative viewers. My question is what helped you play this role-your own desire and motivation, your responsibility for the work or just tolerance to such relations?-aLmA_mUeRtA

In my work I try to be frank with my character,to give him a chance to lead me through his motivation and not to stand in his way if possible.I share every possibility in which Valery is capable of showing his qualities.I like his enigma.I'm motivated by my desire to show this sensitive human being who deserves love and contempt although his sexual orientation.I don't think you have to be brave to be tolerant to "such relations".Parents should be brave to accept their son is a gay because such a news makes them terrified. When the father reconciles his genus won't be continued, then this is an act of bravery.I haven't even thought of arming myself with shields against people's attacks.Just the other way round! As playing Valery I want to ask if all narrow-minded people, potential homophobes, prematurely old,self-confident egoists still remember the crying child in the kindergarten who always thought his fellows tried to do the dirty on him and desperately complained to the teacher? And the conservative viewers can sleep peacefully because love between two men is a smaller threat than a nuclear bomb.Don't forget that love does not ask-it just comes!Gender doesn't matter to love.

Which actors are your friends in real life? What was the hardest scene for you until now?-fann

Merci! It may sound incredible if I say I'm a friend of everyone but I can't hide my desire it to be true.Fortunately the team of Forbidden Love often makes proper evening soirees.I can think of an irritating moment when we heard a flying plane exactly above the studio. We repeated the scene about fifteen times. Then started raining, there were thunders and the electricity stopped. While I was having lunch I spillt the soup on the table and my girlfriend left me.We put off the the work for another day.

What do you do in your spare time? How do you enjoy yourself?-Моni

I travel.I travel...I sink!

Does the character in the serial have something in common with you?-Irkata__95

Yes!We're both tarred with the same brush!

Hi,Ivan!Tell us what your childhood was, where and how have you grown up?-Karry_Mall

There weren't many sleighs in my childhood because snow rarely held back in the streets of Sandanski. But I can't forget the euphoria when this happened. We were still able to swim in Struma and we caught fish with bare hands. We went to the village every summer where we were armed with bows and we made Red Indian marchings in the gullies there.Local children welcomed us in a fitting manner-they threw rocks and lumps at us.A real party.I also remember the romantic winter nights when everyone in the neighbourhood had no electricity and when there was electricity,we had no water.

Hello,Valery! You were born in Sandanski,me too. What gives you the most pleasure when you're in your birthplace?Tell us about an interesting event from your teenage years!-tanche7ooo

It's pleasant for me to come back in Sandanski. But it's the most pleasant on the way to Sandanski. When I was thirteen,I had a dog.

Have you ever had a forbidden love?-nelitoo

Love is pure.It just pounces on you-although our contemptible attempts to control her. We're always surrounding ourselves by stupid norms which prevent her from her real display.Love cannot be forbidden. It's the same as if to forbid the sun to fertilize land.I've fallen in love more than once and I'll keep doing it.I'll quote Yavorov:"Love is a pawky bird, love roves and sings where she wants to!"

Did popularity changed you in some way and did your daily routine also change?Did your attitude to other people change?-Helen

When I went to the shop to buy some cheese, the salesgirl behind the counter listened to me and by smiling portentously, she said:"The best for our people!" and she quickly slipped in the fridge under the counter where she took out a fresh slimy lump of cheese from.By the way, there was no difference between the shown cheese and the one under the counter. There was a change in the salesgirl's behaviour - she has just started noticing me.What a thing the small "box" TV set does to people! It divides us into categories.Popularity is a pernicious adviser to people!

Are you able to find the woman who wants to be with you not because of your popularity but because of you from so many fans?-Nasinda

It's really hard to find the real Woman among the crowd of fans, especially when the crowd doesn't wear pants.

What do you prefer-cinema or theatre?-Guest

I love cinema,I adore theatre!I prefer cinema or theatre!

Did you immediately accept to take part in the serial after you read the scenario and you understood you had such a role?-Guest

Exactly the thing that the role was like that provoked me to accept it immediately though I knew only a few scenes from the hearing. It wasn't necessary for me to know the whole scenario. And agree with me,who could resist to such a strapping young man like Christian?Jesting apart, but seriously! My wife had just told me that the fourth child was about to be born.
